Lira says she plans to motivate people to walk with joy. “It’s not enough to know freedom, I need to live it!

Multi-platinum selling musician Lira is officially the first South African woman to partner with Johnnie Walker for its ‘Joy Will Take You Further’ Campaign, as the brand’s new global ambassador.

The partnership, which was announced at the launch of the campaign on Wednesday, March 30 in Johannesburg, will see the ‘Rise Again’ hit-maker join JoyWalkers across the world such as Jude Law, Eva Hakansson and Jenson Button.

Lira says she plans to motivate people to walk with joy. “It’s not enough to know freedom, I need to live it! The joy I take in living it every day is what gives me the drive to persevere and is the key to the successes I celebrate today,” she said in a statement, adding that her goal is to go beyond music and encourage people to walk with joy.

The musician further took to Instagram and expressed how honoured she is to be the face of the Johnnie Walker brand.
