Hair-raising celebrity haircuts from lockdown

Miley Cyrus has ditched her well-received shaggy tresses for a 'Tiger King'-inspired mullet.

From mullets to bangs, buzz cuts and mohawks – we get a glimpse of how some international celebrities are struggling without the privilege of their stylists and glam squads.

As the world adapts to the new normal of Covid-19 lockdowns and limited access to beauty and hair salons, celebrities are taking to social media to show off their haircutting skills.

Although some of their new homemade looks are a cut above the rest, others have been met with lukewarm reactions.

The likes of Miley Cyrus and Blake Shelton took their inspiration from Netflix’s Tiger King star Joe Exotic, while Joe Jonas and Armie Hammer (of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and Call Me by Your Name fame) tried something different.

We’ll let you decide who did it best.

The Batwoman series star took to her Instagram to show off her new look and said: “What can I say!? Sometimes you just need to feel blue and other times you need pink to lighten your day.”

The hunky actor, who typically sports a full head and light beard, posted an entirely out-there look that he took over the edge with a ripped crop top and patterned shorts.

“I’m highly terrified,” wrote one Instagram user, while others responded with messages like: “You did NOT!!” and “This is NOT OKAY.”

She ditched her well-received shaggy tresses, which she’d been sporting since late last year, for a Tiger King-inspired mullet.

“So the minute I gave myself this haircut, all of the sudden all my updates were just like ‘Tiger King’ memes,” she quipped on her Instagram page.

The music heartthrob summoned his time capsule and decided to opt for the easy and safe bet – which also happened to be a look he wore in 2013 to divided fan reactions.

This time around, though, he may just pull it off as people empathise with hair woes experienced globally due to the pandemic keeping salons shut.
