Jub Jub raped me, he didn’t ‘smash’, says Amanda du-Pont
Actress Amanda du Pont claims 'Uyajola 9/9' host, Jub Jub, repeatedly raped and physically abused her during their two-year relationship.

Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye’s interview with Macgyver “MacG” Mukwevho’s has opened a can of a worms.
After saying he had “smashed” ex-girlfriend, Amanda du-Pont, this ended up being a trigger for the actress. Du-Pont posted an emotional 17-minute video reacting to the Podcast and Chill with MacG interview.
Du-Pont alleged that during their two-year relationship, over a decade ago, he repeatedly raped and physically abused her.
The businesswoman deemed Jub Jub’s interview with MacG as an attempt to damage her name and reputation.
“Probably what I did wrong is brush this under the carpet and not say anything for so long,” Du-Pont said.
She said there were three things she wanted to address, namely that Jub Jub did not have consensual sex with her, that the photo of herself and Jub Jub in jail was not her visiting him and that she had had an abortion after he allegedly raped her the first time.
“There was no way I would have a child that was forcefully given to me.”
“First of all Molemo, you raped me. I was raped for two years solidly. Please don’t make it sound like it was a relationship. I was absolutely afraid to leave, afraid of the power your mother had,” she says.

Jub Jub’s mom is controversial businesswoman Jackie Maarohanye, known as Mama Jackie. She was caught for siphoning money from a trust in which Oprah Winfrey had donated over a million dollars.
Amanda mentions she was aware of these crimes when she was with Jub Jub. She further claims that the Maarohanye family was dabbling in umuthi.
“You [Jub Jub] made me believe that my life would be in danger if I spoke up,” she said.

Amanda says the MacG interview made her angry as it triggered painful memories. The media personality says she eventually left after Jub Jub tried to kill her.
“He suffocated me. He literally suffocated me,” she said, further detailing how Jub Jub controlled her life, her whereabouts and that she was only allowed to have one friend.
Du-Pont called on other possible victims to come forward, saying she has been made aware of possible victims of Jub Jub and MacG.
Du-Pont says she will lay a lawsuit against Jub Jub and MacG for defamation of character, saying the two men, “dragged my name on their podcast for clout at the cost of amplifying a gender-based violence case”.
“Any attorney that can help me with a cease and [desist] letter or help with dealing with this man legally, please reach out. So that he can keep my name out [of] his mouth. Not because I can’t afford it but because I want to make this a public fight. The fight is bigger than me. Dedicated to the woman who never makes it out and ends up dead,” she wrote on Instagram.
Moja Love has also responded to the growing controversy. In a statement sent to The Citizen, the TV channel confirmed they have suspended the Uyajola 9/9 host.
“Jub Jub conducted an interview on Podcast and Chill with MacG, which aired on Channel O yesterday [Wednesday], in his personal capacity. Moja Love was not part of the editorial of that interview and is not associated with the content thereof. As a channel, though, we don’t condone any gender-based violence in any way and under any circumstances. As a channel, we have decided to suspend Jub Jub.”
The Citizen has reached to Jub Jub’s team for comment and is waiting for a response.
