5 reasons why we are crazy about P!nk

If you love the singer's music, check out these top interesting facts about her.

The girl with the brightly coloured pink hair and low-riding cargo pants flew onto our TV screen and straight into our R&B playlists in 2000 with multi award-winning album Can’t Take Me Home.

She exuded a bad-girl attitude which helped formulate popular public perception of her. However, P!nk, born Alecia Moore, turned out to be so much more than her stage alter ego.

She even called one her chart-topping albums Missundaztood because she felt people had the completely wrong image of her.

Here are five reasons why P!nk is a cut above most industry artists:

1. She’s every girl’s perfect role model

According to BuzzFeed, P!nk believes beauty comes from within; not from material objects. She also understands the ups and downs that many girls have. For example, she said: “Every day, I fight a war against the mirror. I can’t stand the person staring back at me.”

2. She supports LGBTQI equality

A year before the marriage equality movement achieved majority support among Americans, P!nk made her position on the issue crystal clear and spoke out in favour of same-sex marriage in a 2012 interview.

3. She supports animal rights

As more and more people are becoming aware of the egregious cruelty that often takes place on fur farms, P!nk joined a number of global animal anti-cruelty campaigns to turn the issue into a national debate.

4. She’s inspirational

P!nk has go-getter attitude, which helps her succeed. Some of her famous inspirational quotes include: “You can’t move mountains by whispering at them”, and “My dad raised me with some good advice: ‘Always tell the truth and always shoot from the hip’.”

5. Her music rocks

Her song So What (2008) rose to the very top of the Hot 100 hits. In 2010, she released Raise Your Glass, which also went to the top of the Hot 100 hits. The piano-led duet Just Give Me A Reason topped the charts at No. 1 for three weeks in 2013.
