‘7de Laan’ actress announces divorce
Actress Donnalee Roberts, who plays the role of Annelie in popular Afrikaans soapie '7de Laan', and her businessman husband Gerber Strydom have officially announced that they are divorced.

Speaking exclusively to Sarie.com, Roberts said that she and her husband “tried hard” to save their marriage, but it ultimately just didn’t work out between them.
“Gerber and I got married very young and have unfortunately grown apart,” she said.
The couple got married in 2010, and the actress insists that the split was amicable and that they are still friends.
They released a joint press statement which reads: “The decision to get a divorce was one we made together because we, at the end of the day, want different things from life. We are still close to each other and, thanks to the support of our families, friends, and colleagues, are both stronger and have complete peace in our hearts over our decision.
“We both have wonderful projects and dreams for the New Year.”
