Anele Mdoda calls Cotton On out on their outrageously priced R199 mug

A few days ago, Anele joined the trending topics after she took a swipe at Beyoncé's new hair products. She is trending again after coming for Cotton On.

Cotton On topped the trending topics today on Twitter after the media personality Anele Mdoda reacted to their pricey enamel mugs

The fashion company is selling one mug for R199. They are also selling a matching bowl and plate to complete the set at R399.

Other social media users have since blasted the company, calling it out for the “ridiculous” price. One netizen said she believes that the company is selling a vintage cup that was used by Jesus’ mother, Mary, because there is no way it can cost that much.

“Cotton On… we need to talk. ANELE and The Club… tomorrow,” the TV and Radio presenter wrote, sharing a picture on Twitter.

‘I am not buying hair products from usisi’

Last week Wednesday, Anele took to Twitter to let her over 2 million followers know that she will not be buying Beyoncé’s new hair products.

While some people agreed with Anele, saying the hair products will probably cost an arm and a leg, others dragged the media personality.

Beyoncé’s big announcement

The American superstar shared on her social media that she is working on releasing a hair product range.

The multi-award-winning singer revealed that her first job was sweeping hair in her mother’s salon.

She added: “Destiny’s Child got our start by performing for clients while they were getting their hair done. I was exposed to so many different kinds of entrepreneurial women in her salon. I saw firsthand how the ways we nurture and celebrate hair can directly impact our souls.

“I watched her heal and be of service to so many women. Having learned so much on my hair journey, I’ve always dreamed of carrying on her legacy,” she explains.

“I can’t wait for you to experience what I’ve been creating.”

Beyoncé’s colourist Rita Hazan told BAZAAR.com that Beyoncé has always been passionate about healthy hair.

“Beyoncé and I are always on the same page when it comes to keeping her hair healthy and its overall colour.”
