Arthur Mafokate threatens man who owes him R500k

Mafokate allegedly threatened to nail his business partner’s private parts to a tree if he does not pay the R500 000 he lent him.

Sports commentator Owen Ndlovu borrowed the money from 999 Music boss Arthur Mafokate when they become partners in the SABC Summer Song of the Year competition, reports Sunday World.

But things turned sour when Ndlovu allegedly failed to pay the money by the end of June as per their agreement. Mafokate’s lawyers reportedly sent him a letter demanding he pay the money by November 19 plus 10,25% interest.

Ndlovu has hit back, accusing Mafokate of making unreasonable demands as far as the competition is concerned.

He claims the Die Poppe Sal Dans hitmaker wanted an artist from 999 Music to perform when the competition winner is announced, and demanded that one of his artists was named the winner.

Ndlovu told the  publication that Mafokate also wanted access to the voting SMS line. He added that he was reluctant to continue with his partnership with the musician after he started making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Mafokate has been accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cici, and is also being investigated for his involvement in the payola scandal.

“All these things were going to dent the reputation of the project. I told him to sort out these things first so we could continue with our partnership,” said Ndlovu.

Mafokate  declined to comment when the paper contacted him, saying the matter was being handled by his lawyers.
