Denise’s exit from V Entertainment shocks fans

Household name and viewers favourite Denise Zimba is leaving popular Vuzu show V Entertainment.

The move left many fans wondering whether she was given the boot or if she left voluntarily, similar to when the socialite surprisingly exited soapie Generations: The Legacy. But Zimba did not help the situation.

She left her Instagram followers confused this week after posting on the social media network a picture she took at the Vuzu studios, captioned with a bittersweet message. “The industry has never recognised my work, but the fans! And the few media outlets have, and for that, thank you. I will forever be grateful.” But the publicity team at M-Net was hesitant to comment on the matter, saying Zimba was “very busy” for an interview.

“Contracts and details are confidential. Details on this can only be revealed by the station at the appropriate time,” said channel head of public relations Nondumiso Mabece. “The channel will, however, like to reiterate how grateful it is to Denise for the contribution she has made to the success of the channel and V Entertainment as a whole.”

DJ Speedsta, Nomuzi Mabena, Dreamteam’s handsome Dash (real name Mthoko Mkhathini) and Shane Eagle, famous for hiphop reality show The Hustle, were announced as the new faces of the show. Mabena is no stranger to the world of presenting, having been a Channel O VJ. Hailing from Benoni, she’s always believed she was born to be in the entertainment industry. She is also a hip-hop artist.

“I feel like I have been in the entertainment industry for a long time,” said Mabena. “I have done so many things and cemented myself, so my diversity is what I’ll offer.”

No stranger to Vuzu Amp, Eagle was one of the viewers’ favourites when he made it to the top four of The Hustle. Another person who is all too familiar with the hip-hop industry is Dash, who rose to prominence in 2013 when Dreamteam made headlines after winning a South African hip-hop award when their hit single, Tsekede, rocked the charts.
