Diski Divas ‘fake fight’ leads to two dismissals

Mzansi Magic has reached a decision to terminate the participation of Wendy Parker and Katlego (Kat) Mohoaduba from Diski Divas with immediate effect.

This comes after a brawl between Nonhle Ndala and Wendy Parker which erupted during an interview at Kaya FM last Friday. It was up to the show’s host Sotho Lenkoe to separate the women from each other.

Following the incident, Ndala went to a police station where she reportedly opened a case of assault. It is also alleged that the women staged the fight so as to create content for the show as they were running out of ideas.

However, the whole thing may have been a publicity stunt. Kaya FM presenter Kuli Roberts took to Twitter at the weekend, claiming that the whole thing was a set up. She lambasted the show’s producers for involving Lenkoe, who she refers to as “her mate”, and was hurt in the crossfire.

According to a statement released by Nkateko Mabaso, Director of Local Interest Channels at M-Net, the axed pair will still feature in the show for the next two weeks. The statement read:

“Mzansi Magic confirms that whilst Diski Divas is an unscripted reality series, any unacceptable behaviour of cast members will not be tolerated. We extend our  appreciation to Kaya FM for their swift action and apologise that this incident occurred on their premises during what should have been a routine interview.”

Today Roberts called the two “sacrificial lambs” on Twitter.

Parker is married to Kaizer Chiefs player Bernard Parker and Ndala is in a relationship with midfielder Andile Jali. Both ladies involved in the fight are pregnant.
