Euphonik the polygamist? DJ set to wed his third wife – report

Musician DJ Euphonik is reportedly set to take in wife number three. The news did not sit well with his first wife who has reportedly left him.

Many people were probably unaware that DJ Themba “Euphonik” Nkosi had more than one wife, and according to new reports the musician intends on taking a third wife.

It was reported by the Sunday World that Euphonik’s first wife Aurelia Nxumalo has left him after he “insisted” on taking a third wife.

The publication claimed that the DJ’s second wife, Kholeka Qiniso, has no problem with the introduction of a third wife.

Nxumalo and Euphonik have two children. Sunday World said they have seen an invite of a umemulo, which is a traditional Zulu coming of age ceremony, and umembeso (a Zulu cultural practice taking place after the bride price has been paid) which is set to be attended by family and close friends.

The traditional ceremonies are scheduled to take place this weekend.

The guest list reportedly includes celebrities such as Black Coffee and his close friend DJ Fresh. The tabloid further reports sources close to Qiniso saying she is happy with the arrangement, as it means she will assume the duties of being a first wife.

Nxumalo allegedly moved out of their home into a cluster in Sandton and has not been wearing her wedding ring since June 2021.

The source close to the lawyer says Nxumalo couldn’t deal with Euphonik’s intentions to take a third wife because she is “all about women empowerment and doesn’t subscribe to that”.

It added that Nxumalo thought Euphonik was done taking more wives, while Qiniso knew what she was signing up for and believes he can take care of them.

The Citizen has reached out to Euphonik for comment and is waiting for a response.

Euphonik has rarely spoken about his family or his reported wives. The artist over the last two years has been in the news for all the wrong reasons.

Euphonik and Fresh had a rape case dismissed after a woman, known by her Twitter handle @nampree, alleged at the beginning of 2021 the DJs had drugged and raped her in 2011.

The NPA dropped the case due to “insufficient evidence”.
