Music mogul Jay Z has surprised fellow rappers and friends Meek Mill and Swizz Beatz with expensive VIP passes to his Shawn Carter Foundation Gala set to take place next week.
Taking to his Instagram stories, Swizz Beatz posted videos saying Jay had sent someone to deliver a package to him. He found the messenger in his living room with a black gift bag, which the rapper said was heavy. The messenger then told him the delivery was for the gala.
He later revealed what was in the bag: “Levels. Hov is on another level with the invite game. It came with a Daytona Rolex and a bottle of Ace.”
Jay Z’s Ace of Spades champagne reportedly costs around R12,000, while news website Complex estimated the watches to be around R590,000.
Meek Mill also could not hide his shock and took to social media to share the invitation.
He wrote: “Hov sent these as VIP passes smh. This rich sh*t getting out of control lol. I’m not joking lol.”
The foundation’s Twitter page also announced that award-winning musician Alicia Keys would perform at the event.
“Excited to announce 15X Grammy Award-winning icon @AliciaKeys for an exclusive, one-night-only performance on November 16th to benefit the Shawn Carter Foundation. The @hardrockholly pre-sale starts tomorrow, October 4 at 10 am ET, followed by the public on-sale on Saturday.”
