Oprah Winfrey took to Instagram to pay tribute to her late friend Tina Turner.

Renowned American talk show host Oprah Winfrey took a moment to honour her longtime friend and musician Tina Turner by sharing heartfelt recollections on Instagram.
Tina, aged 83, passed away in Switzerland on Wednesday, 24 May 2023, after battling a prolonged illness.
In recent years, the celebrated vocalist of What’s Love Got To Do With It faced a series of health complications, including cancer, a stroke and kidney failure.
On Instagram, Oprah Winfrey spoke about how she started as a fan of Tina and then became a devoted groupie.
“I started out as a fan of Tina Turner, then a full on groupie, following her from show to show around the country, and then, eventually, we became real friends.
“She is our forever goddess of rock ‘n’ roll who contained a magnitude of inner strength that grew throughout her life,” said Oprah.

Going down memory lane
Oprah took a trip down memory lane and recalled her experience of sharing the stage with the legendary singer.
In her Instagram post, she reminisces about the time she joined Tina on stage during her “Wildest Dreams Tour”.
“I was so nervous that my knees were actually knocking together. Dancing onstage with her in Los Angeles was the most fun I ever remember having stepping out of my box.
“Tina lived out of the box and encouraged me and every woman to do the same,” said Oprah.

In an interview on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) in 2013, the media personality asked Tina for her thoughts on the aging process. In response, the musician said she had fulfilled her purpose in life.
