Presley Chweneyagae’s family reveals cause of death, memorial, and funeral details

The family of the late actor Presley Chweneyagae has revealed that he died of natural causes.

The award-winning actor passed away on Tuesday this week at the age of 40.

Family spokesperson Mzwakhe Sigudla spoke to the media outside his home in Pretoria on Wednesday morning.

“We want to set the record straight that it was a natural death, as far as we are concerned. He had a complication related to breathing which occurred abruptly.

“Paramedics were called to the house and attended to him. We appreciate the professional manner in which the paramedics handled the situation, but unfortunately, he didn’t make it,” Sigudla said.

Presley Chweneyagae’s memorial and funeral details

The family also confirmed that there will be two memorial services for Chweneyagae.

“One will be in Mahikeng next week on Tuesday (3 June), and the other will be in Pretoria next Thursday (5 June).

“The funeral will take place on Saturday (7 June)…around Pretoria,” he added.

Sigudla also shared that the venues will be confirmed in due course.

“We are in contact with various people within the industry because we know Presley was an icon and widely celebrated, so we have opened up this process to allow those who supported him to be part of the activities we are planning,” Sigudla added.
