Properties, construction, and more: Inside Lady Du’s business empire

Lady Du is one of the most successful musician entrepreneurs in South Africa.

A few days ago, Amapiano star Lady Du revealed she owns a construction company.

The Woza hitmaker made the big announcement as she showed off how she turned a basic house into a luxurious beauty salon.

“This took me eight months to build from scratch. I had pipe bursts flooding everything you can think of because this was the first property I bought. I knew nothing about construction. Today, I actually own a construction company,” she wrote.

Lady Du got her big break in the music industry in 2021. She has since put her money to good use and created multiple income streams for herself.

The musician also uses her social media platforms to encourage other musicians to spend their money wisely.

“Dear black child! Life as an entertainer is not guaranteed. Use your money to build a legacy for kids. Thank you to all of you who streamed my music! I am a fully qualified beautician. I now own a beauty salon in the hood from saving money, 15 employees, it’s opening soon,” she tweeted.

Multiple properties

Lady Du shared on X, formerly Twitter, earlier this year that after she got her breakthrough in the music industry in 2021, she took a break and focused on building her legacy.

“I took all the money I made and bought properties to turn into businesses. I literally focused on that so my brand can be able to take care of itself. I didn’t create a lifestyle I won’t afford, I invested in my future,” she wrote.

A few weeks ago, DJ Sbu took to Instagram to congratulate her for investing in “a few vacant stands” at his new estate in Northriding.

Entertainment Company

The singer started her entertainment company, Lady Du Entertainment, 11 years ago.

Celebrating a decade last year, she said Lady Du Entertainment would only be working on helping girls.

“I feel like females go through soooo much, I won’t be signing people. I don’t believe in giving people fish. I buy equipment for them to fish.

“Right now, I’m building as much as I can to make sure they don’t have to look anywhere for sponsorship unless it’s brands for a party! We don’t sign to labels!!!!! We are the labels. We push ownership, we push independence,” she added.
