Seiphemo ‘may have distracted his hijackers’

Seiphemo was travelling with two passengers in his Audi A4 on N14 near Diepsloot last Sunday.

A credible police source revealed that Generations: The Legacy soapie star Rapulana Seiphemo may have distracted his hijackers while he was travelling with them in his car during the evening of the horrific collision that killed three people.

The source said Seiphemo was allegedly hijacked on Sunday evening by two males from Mamelodi before the accident, “and the two suspects made him drive as fast as he could to avoid any suspicions from the police on the road.”

The crash killed three people, two males from the other vehicle and one of the suspect was also killed while the surviving suspect was under heavy police guard in hospital.

The soapie star was left critical. Seiphemo was travelling with two passengers in his Audi A4 on N14 near Diepsloot last Sunday.

Just a day after the fatal accident, an eye witness Eugene Ravhuanzwo told The Citizen that the actor’s car was moving at a high speed, “The white Audi A4 drove past me so fast, you know the kind of speed that leaves your car shaking. And within seconds I saw dust, particles and things flying in the air. I was so shaken.”

Ravhuanzwo said when he stopped to look at the accident bodies were strewn around.“When we got to him he was still unconscious. It was not a pretty sight. There were bodies on the road, clothes scattered. When the paramedics arrived I recognised Tau (Seiphemo’s character in Generations ). I was in tears. It was a horrific scene, it was dark,” said Ravhuanzwo.

However, the provincial police spokesperson Captain Tsekiso Mofokeng declined to comment on the details of the passengers but confirmed that the injured passenger was under police guard.

Mofokeng said that three cases of culpable homicide cases have been opened and that the police were in the process of collecting statements from survivors of the accident. Family spokesperson Mduduzi Sikhakhane confirmed that he was discharged from Milpark Hopsital on Saturday and he was recovering at home.
