‘Career suicide’– Twitter reacts to Jonathan Majors arrest

It was reported on Saturday by US media that the actor was in an altercation with a woman in New York.

A career that had a momentous trajectory, starring in back-to-back box office hits, Jonathan Majors is facing assault charges.

It was reported on Saturday by US media that the actor was in an altercation with a woman in New York.

Majors has recently starred in Creed III, the first directed movie by Micheal B Jordan and Marvel film Antman and The Wasp: Quantumania as the villain, Kang.

Assault charges

It was widely reported that Majors had been arrested on charges of strangulation, assault, and harassment.

The actor was apprehended by police on Saturday over an alleged domestic dispute with an unnamed woman at a Chelsea apartment in Mantthan.

New York police said in a statement that the victim informed them she had been assaulted.

“Officers placed the 33-year-old male into custody without incident. The victim sustained minor injuries to her head and neck and was removed to an area hospital in stable condition.”

Majors was released after being in police custody.

Responding to the media for comment, the Creed star’s representative says the actor did nothing wrong,

“He has done nothing wrong,” the representative said in an email. “We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up.”

Movie success

Earlier this month according to multiple reports, Creed III is the first sports movie ever to pass $100 million at the global box office in its opening weekend.

In this ninth film in the “Rocky” franchise — the first without Sylvester Stallone in the Rocky Balboa role he created — Creed comes out of retirement for a dramatic showdown against an old friend played by Jonathan Majors.

Starring in a Marvel film is mostly granted success. Majors also played the villain in Marvel and Disney’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which also ranked high at the box office, with over $450 million in global earnings.

At one point Majors movies were in the top two at the box office in March.
