‘No Way Home’: Marvel blesses fans with three-minute Spider-Man trailer

To keep the momentum going around the new Spiderman film, Marvel Studios released an extended trailer for ‘No Way Home'.

It has been a busy year for Disney and Marvel and both are showing no signs of slowing down as they gear up for two new Marvel releases in December – the Hawkeye series and Spider-Man: No Way Home

In an effort to keep the momentum around the new Spiderman film going, Marvel Studios released an extended trailer for No Way Home that contains a wealth of clues about what the new film will be about.

It was already revealed that Dr Strange would be starring in the new film alongside Alfred Molina, who would be reprising his role as Dr Octopus (Dr Otto Gunther Octavius) from Spider-Man 2 (the 2004 film starring Tobey Maguire).

Rumours were swirling that other villains from previous Spiderman films, from other studios, would appear in No Way Home and the new trailer confirmed it.

Much like the teaser trailer, the extended trailer opens with a conversation between Tom Holland’s Peter Parker and Zendaya Coleman’s Michelle “MJ” Jones, played over scenes from where the last Spiderman film left off.

It then provides more context to what we saw in the last trailer, when Peter asked Dr Strange to cast a spell that would make everyone forget that he is Peter Parker.

This is because he was exposed as Spiderman in Spider-Man: Far From Home by Jay Jonah Jameson.

However, the spell came with some dire consequences and Peter finds himself fighting every major villain from past Spider-Man films (and other “spiderverses”) who died fighting Spiderman.

This includes Doc Ock, Green Goblin (Willem Defoe), Electro (Jamie Foxx), The Sandman (Thomas Haden Church) and Lizard.

True to Peter Parker’s nature, he tries to save everyone and the film follows his escapades in an effort to show fans whether he can pull it off.

All this while they face the possibility of more villains and other heroes from other universes breaking through into their reality thanks to the events of the first season of the Loki Disney+ series.

Because of the introduction of villains from other universes there is also the possibility of characters from other Spiderman films showing up in this film. This includes the other two Peter Parkers played by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

All of these and other questions will be answered this December when Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theatres.
