‘Black Conversations’ is more than just a TV show

Castle Milk Stout launched Black Conversations in 2022 to inspire Africans to embrace their traditions in the modern world.

Castle Milk Stout’s Marketing Manager, Khwezi Vika, said the show’s role is pivotal for honest conversations on topics often shrouded in privacy.

“It’s an important place where we talk openly about topics that are usually kept private. All three seasons of Castle Milk Stout Black Conversations have proven that what we did wasn’t just a show.

“It has been and continues to be an essential forum where we engage openly in discussions about topics typically held behind closed doors. Our commitment is firmly rooted in inspiring Africans to cherish and uphold their age-old traditions and values, even in today’s complex world,” he said.

In the last episode of Season 3, the spotlight was on Black storytelling, with renowned personalities discussing the challenges of authentic storytelling in Africa, questioning traditions, rituals, and cultural practices.

The panel scrutinised the progress of African storytelling, explored stereotypes, and debated whether African stories were being portrayed accurately. The episode provided a nuanced perspective on the narratives that shape the African experience.
