Veteran actor Sello Maake KaNcube has responded to rumours that there is trouble in paradise following reports that his family did not pitch for lobola negotiations.
According to Zimoja, a source revealed that the legendary actor is reconsidering his commitment to his wife, Pearl Mbewe-Maake KaNcube, as he made her family wait the whole day of the lobola.
“Sello still lives with his ex-wife, daughter, grandchildren, and Pearl in the same house. It seems like he is dealing with a lot right now. While he loves Pearl, I think he’s struggling to balance his family and new marriage.
“Despite nothing going on between him and his ex-wife, their shared history might be adding to the tension,” the source said, as quoted by the publication, adding that Pearl has not returned to their home since then.

Sello Maake KaNcube sets the record straight
Taking to Instagram, the former Scandal star said he needed to set the record straight for people who love and pray for his union with his wife.
“I was not going to address the stories which are making the rounds. This was simply because people will always write what they want, and we have no control over that. We, however, own our narrative.
“I need to set the record straight for those who keep praying and love our union! The rest, we read their comments and only feel sorry for them! Here is nothing but truth,” he wrote.
He added that Pearl is the only Mrs Maake KaNcube he knows and loves.
“Don’t celebrate other’s ‘downfalls’ prematurely. Life is but a journey,” he concluded.
The pair got engaged in August 2021. Taking to Instagram at the time, the actor said he had accepted he would remain single for the rest of his life until he found Pearl.
“She said yes! Meet my wife, Pearl Mbewe. I made her the one, and I never longed to find anyone anymore… I had made peace with being single, but now I’m ready to tell my story. Being happy is the way, and she holds the way,” he wrote.
