Investigation continues into N11 Breyten shooting death of Hendrina man

Investigation into Mahlangu’s death remains active as authorities maintain public appeal for information in Breyten case.

Police investigations into the fatal shooting of 42-year-old Mpendulo Mahlangu on the N11 near the Breyten turn-off continue, with authorities confirming that no arrests have been made at this stage.

Mahlangu was found next to a vehicle along the roadside after police responded to a report from a member of the public on April 21.

Mahlangu was later identified to police by his family and confirmed as a resident of Hendrina.

Breyten police spokesperson Sergeant Shadrack Mashegoane previously confirmed the discovery of the victim at the scene, where he was found lying next to what is believed to have been his family vehicle.

Authorities have maintained an appeal for information, urging members of the public to assist with any details that may assist the investigation.

Information can be reported at the nearest police station, via the My SAPS app, or by calling Crime Stop on 08600 10111.

Alternatively, information can be shared with investigating officer Phumlani Mhlanga on 082 923 0051.
