Flood-damaged Badplaas resort reopens select facilities while repairs continue
The resort continues recovery operations, with a mix of available and unavailable facilities following recent flood damage.
BADPLAAS – Management of Badplaas, A Forever Resort, has provided a further update following the flash flooding on April 8, which caused significant damage to parts of the resort and prompted ongoing restoration efforts.
The flooding, which has been linked to an upstream incident involving a reported farm dam wall collapse, resulted in widespread water damage across sections of the property.
At the time, management indicated that insurance-related processes and assessments had been initiated as part of standard procedure, while aspects relating to the upstream incident remain under review.

In its latest update, the resort confirmed that several warm water facilities remain temporarily closed. These include the warm outdoor pool, warm baby pool, hydro pools, spa treatments and the curio shop.
Several facilities, however, remain open and operational. Guests can still make use of the cold pool, baby cold pool, water slides, Rinkhals area and putt-putt course. Other amenities, including eco adventure activities and hotel dining, are also continuing as normal.
Access to the waterpark area has been adjusted in the interim.

Guests are currently required to enter via the parking area behind Bikini Bar, as pedestrian bridges damaged during the flooding are still under construction.
Management said restoration work is actively underway, with a focus on safety, quality and long-term resilience, and reiterated that communication with guests remains ongoing.
“We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work diligently to return all facilities to full operation,” management said.
