Hans Storm Memorial Race draws athletes in Ermelo

The event showcased a remarkable display of talent and sportsmanship, with participants competing fiercely yet amicably.

Residents gathered at Body Strong Fitness in Ermelo on June 21 to participate in the annual Hans Storm Memorial Race.

Runners could participate in two different categories: the 10km route or a shorter fun run.

The winner of the men’s division was Siyabonga Xowane, with Ayabonga Mavuso in second and Nhlanhla Mabuza in third.

Wendy Msezane took top honours in the women’s division.

Mentjie Jansen came in second and Nqobile Fakude took third position.

The winners in the junior men’s category were Thembinkosi Mavuso, Tebogo Molofe and Lindelani Hlatshwayo, with Nqobile Fakude first in the junior women’s category.

Leon Joubert won the 40+ category for men.

Ziphindile Dlamini and Jabu Thusi were first and second in the 40+ category for women.

In the 50+ category, Thulani Ngobeni took the men’s title, with Gilbert Mkoko second.

Mentjie Jansen won the 50+ women’s division.

Louise de Jager and Dallie Viljoen won the 60+ men and women’s divisions, respectively.
