EEPS athletes excels during sub-district athletics meeting
Following a day of fierce competition, a group of EEPS athletes qualified for the next round of the sub-district athletics.
A group of athletes from Ermelo English Primary School competed in a sub-district athletics meeting on January 28 and qualified for the next round, which is scheduled to take place on February 4 at the AJ Swanepoel Stadium.
The following learners have made the cut for the upcoming event:
• U10: Luthando Zwane qualified for both the 80m and 100m sprints.
• U11: Mpilenhle Zimu will compete in the 70m hurdles, 80m, and long jump. She is joined by Lesego Moloi, who qualified for the 70m hurdles.
• U12: This group includes Amahle Vilakazi (150m, 100m, and long jump), Ulilitha Dladla (150m and 100m), and Isabella Mahlangu, who qualified for high jump.
• U13: A strong senior team will be heading to the stadium. Track athletes include Fisokuhle Mango (100m and 200m), Musa Mabhena (800m), Simamukele Sithole (100m), and Uma Thwala (100m and high jump). In the field events, Udoka Ikewote qualified for shot put and Chiamaka Ekegbunam for long jump.
