IN PICS: QHDS and CHOC host multicultural fundraiser show
All funds raised from the event will go towards the Childhood Cancer Foundation - CHOC.
MORE than 150 people gathered at the West Park hall in Malvern on Saturday, 18 July to support the Queensburgh Hindu Dharma Sabha in association with the Childhood Cancer Foundation (CHOC) garden tea party and multicultural show.
QHDS, together with CHOC, used this platform to raise funds for children with cancer on the auspicious birthday of Nelson Mandela.
Agie Govender, regional manager of CHOC KZN, welcomed the guest speaker, Vanishree Archary, who lost her son, Sayurin to cancer a few years ago.
Her message was clear – the illness is very real today and the organisation needs the support of the public to help those families affected with the illness.
Entertainment included Irish dancers, Indian classical dancers, heart-warming songs, a clarinet player, ballet dances and more. This event featured culture from across the world.
Patrons enjoyed delicious savoury and sweet snacks and a tea during the interval.
