Man crushed by a forklift in Queensburgh accident

According to paramedics, the man in his 30s was declared dead on scene after a forklift overturned while in operation and crushed the driver.

A MAN was killed in an accident involving a forklift at an industrial place in Piet Retief Road, Queensburgh this afternoon (Monday, August 25).

ALS Paramedics Medical Services spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said paramedics arrived on the scene to find that a forklift had somehow overturned while in operation and crushed the driver.

Paramedics quickly assessed the driver, a male believed to be in his 30s. The man sustained fatal injuries and there was nothing more paramedics could do for him.

“The man was declared deceased on the scene,” said Jamieson.

SAPS were on scene and will investigate.
