Find your inner peace at chariots festival
From cooking demonstrations, a play, and concerts to a walk and yoga session, the Durban Festival of Chariots will be bigger and better than previous years.
CELEBRATE life, love and truth at the Durban Festival of Chariots from 30 March to 2 April at the Old Durban Drive-In.
Life-In-Style on Friday, 30 March from 4pm:
Catch local celebrity, Annalaksmi, a semi-finalist in SA’s Got Talent, in a holistic cooking segment. She runs her own restaurant, is particularly partial to Italian food and enjoys making her own ravioli. Annalaskmi’s culinary skills will be put to the test.

The Life-In-Style also lets you explore other vedic arts. Back in South Africa by popular demand is Sri Radha Govinda, a qualified Vedic astrologer, palm analyst, psychotherapist and author of a serious of astrological books. She will be joined by her mentor, Manhohara Das.
Sound Evolution on Saturday, 31 March:
From Hip-hop to opera, reggae to classical, pop, rock, poetry, and mantra there is something for everyone at the sound evolution event. The shows include reggae with Texito Langa, pop and opera with Lusi and hip-hop poetry with Flame Phoenicx.
The Queen’s Secret from 30 March to 1 April from 7.30pm:
The Queen’s Secret is a story that deals with royalty, sages, and the way fate plays out in our lives. The theatre production is based on the story of a young princess who was awarded a private mantra, which allowed her to call on any demi-god. And from him she would have a child.

In her curious innocence, she summoned the powerful Sun God, and hence begot a boy. Since it was not socially accepted to have a child with an unidentified father, she placed the child in a basket and left him to float under the care of a river. Years later she encounters her lost son, Karna, days before he is destined to die in battle. Karna is a tragic figure with a mixed karmic makeup.
Walk and yoga on Monday, 2 April from 7am:
This one is for the early birds. Invigorate the body and mind on a walk with the world-renowned Walking Monk – Bhaktimarga Swami.
The swami has walked across Canada four times and the US once, a total of 30 000 km! This is an opportunity to have a thoughtful conversation with a monk in a casual environment.
