Pilusa gets podium finish at Delmas Rally

Rally driver Peter Pilusa finished second in class D at the Delmas Rally, securing his runner-up spot in the 2025 WOMZA championship.

TZANEEN – Beloved local rally driver, Peter Pilusa, once again impressed by finishing second in class D (SARC5) at the Delmas Rally. The two-day race, held at Die Tapkar, offered a thrilling mix of adrenaline and fresh farm air.

It was the final event of the World of Motorsport South Africa (WOMZA) 2025 season, where Pilusa also secured second place overall in his class championship.

For the Delmas Rally, Pilusa returned to driving his former Golf 1400 CC, setting aside his Sentra, which he had used for the past 13 years. “I decided to rest my Sentra and go back to the Golf I used before,” he explained. He also had a new navigator, Clarisse Lourens from Pretoria, whom he praised for her exceptional performance.

Pilusa thanked the WOMZA team for sponsoring his races throughout the year, especially as he nearly quit the sport due to financial difficulties.

“Racing is expensive, and without sponsorship, it’s hard to keep up. I’m thankful to WOMZA for their support,” he concluded.
