Mpho Popps to host the 2026 Content Creator Awards

Manuela Dias de Deus, founder of the Content Creator Awards, said Popps was chosen for his ability to connect with audiences.

Mpho “Popps” Modikoane will host the 2026 Content Creator Awards at The Galleria in Sandton on Saturday, 17 October.

The awards recognise South African digital creators, brands, agencies and platforms contributing to the country’s creator economy.

Popps said he is excited to host the awards.

“I’m excited to be hosting the Content Creator Awards this year. Content creators are literally driving culture right now. They keep us laughing, informed, and inspired every single day on our phones,” he said.

He added that he is looking forward to celebrating the nominees and their work.

“There is so much incredible talent coming out of South Africa, and it’s great to see creators getting the recognition they deserve for the work they’re doing,” he said.

Mpho Popps chosen for his ability to connect with audiences

Manuela Dias de Deus, founder of the Content Creator Awards and One-eyed Jack, said Popps was chosen for his ability to connect with audiences.

“We wanted a host who could bring real energy and personality to the awards,” said Dias de Deus.

“Mpho has always been someone who can take a room and completely own it, but more importantly, he knows how to connect with an audience.”
