Flower show to bloom in Joburg

Flower walls, photo booths and floral installations will be bliss for visitors’ senses.

With less than three months to go to the inaugural Johannesburg International Flower Show, preparations are in full swing.

Waterfall City will be transformed into a blooming display of floral glory and gardening excellence from October 30 to November 3.

At the event, there will be top-class entertainment and a hub of activity suitable for everyone, from families to socialites.

The event is a celebration of design and artistic innovation. Everyone who comes will leave having gained something, from new skills and ideas, or just the sense of being part of something magnificent.

Some of the wonderful sights that can be expected include a Super Food Garden designed by Tzaneen’s Amorentia Estate and Nursery. It will showcase blueberries, avocados, macadamia nuts and a new variety of dragon fruit.

A lion made out of marigolds will add a touch of majestic grace to the garden area.

Artisan Gardens.

In the pavilion, there will be cascading floral chandeliers and themed floral exhibits by top designers Franz Grabe, Blomboy and other high-profile floral stylists.

Flower walls, photo booths and floral installations will be bliss for visitors’ senses.

Artisanal gins from Old Packhouse Distillery and adult popsicles by Frost will be available, alongside a number of artisanal food trucks and stalls and the Waterfall Organic Market.

Plants and flowers will be on hand to purchase from Ludwig Roses, Plantland and The Garden Shop, Alsmeer wholesale flower market and Bella Flower Truck.

If bling is more your thing, Floral Jewels will have a range of floral-inspired jewellery for sale and the South African Mint will be selling special coins with floral designs for collectors.
