A flipping challenge

On April 24, Chris Batts will attempt to clinch another world record by flipping a 85-kilogram bulldozer tyre 1 000 times in under three hours.

A portion of the money raised will be given to Pediatric Care Africa in order to help fund children’s medical care in Mpumalanga.

The 62-year-old radio host of Radio Hi 5 Stereo currently holds 30 world records. These include the most flips of an 85-kilogram tyre in eight hours, the fastest time to ride a wheelchair for 10 kilometers and the fastest time to pull a car five metres while in a wheelchair.

The new record Batts will be setting is unique as he will attempt to flip the tyre while barefoot. This adds to the difficulty as bare feet provide less grip than shoes.

Pledges can be made by WhatsApp to 076-229-5663 or on the day of the event at White River Crossing.
