The stage is set for another extraordinary Kruger Concert for Conservation, and on March 20, 2027, the Big Five, a selection of five of South Africa’s best artists, will perform a repertoire aptly called ‘Harmony in Nature’.

With much-loved classics like ‘The Prayer’, ‘Music Box Dancer’, ‘Karoonag’, and ‘O Mio Babbino Caro’, alongside traditional Afrikaans boeremusiek, sweeping ballads, and violin masterpieces ranging from Handel to ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, the programme will take guests on an extraordinary journey through cultures, genres and generations.

Since its inception in 2023, the Kruger Concert for Conservation has grown into one of the premier fundraising events in the Lowveld. Combining world-class musical talent with the unmatched setting of the African bushveld, each concert delivers an unforgettable evening while raising critical funds.

Dedicated to conservation The event is organised by the SANParks Honorary Rangers, the official volunteer organisation of SANParks.

Established in 1964, the organisation has grown into a nationwide network of dedicated volunteers who give their time, skills and resources to support conservation and the national parks of South Africa.

The scale of their contribution is significant. During the past year alone, 2 497 Honorary Rangers contributed 419 120 volunteer hours, together with approximately R106m in contributions, material assistance, travel and volunteer hours to SANParks.

Their work covers a wide range of conservation priorities identified by SANParks, including projects such as anti-poaching and snare-removal initiatives, invasive alien plant eradication, infrastructure improvements, environmental education and the provision of essential equipment.

The Honorary Rangers have also been actively involved in supporting SANParks and affected communities in response to the recent flood damage and other challenges facing the Kruger National Park.

Their ability to respond to these urgent needs, while continuing their long-term conservation work, is made possible through the generosity of volunteers, donors, sponsors and fundraising events such as the Kruger Concert for Conservation.
