Eloise brings heavy downpours to the Lowveld

Damaging winds, disruptive rain and widespread havoc. These were some of the traits by which Lowvelders remember January 1984, when Cyclone Domoina hit the area. 36 years later, almost to the day and many Lowvelders were waiting to see whether the area will be affected as it had been in 1984.

– The low bridge outside Skukuza over the Sabie River is closed.
– H14 Mopani – Phalaborwa road is open right through.
– Punda – Shingwedzi tar road now accessible.
– Crocodile Bridge gate closed until further notice due to rising water levels in Crocodile River.
