UPDATED: Scrap-metal cargo truck turns over on N4

MALALANE – On Wednesday afternoon a scrap-metal truck went out of control and over-turned on the N4, near the Riverview Prep turn-off, scattering huge pieces of metal next to the road. The driver and co-driver sustained minor injuries but no one was seriously injured. According to the driver, his intention was to protect a fellow road user. “There was a piece of metal hanging over the truck carrier, and I saw that it was going to fall on a vehicle overtaking me. I then tried to move the tuck more to the left so that it did not hit the car but as I moved it, the truck tipped over. This is really bad.” said the driver.
