MBOMBELA – Hans Bronkhorst also known as Blue Torch, once again rendered a unique one-man band performance at The Pub this weekend.

Influenced by artists such as Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd, Johnny Cash, John Lennon and Leonard Cohan, Bronkhorst created a nostalgic atmosphere with his guitar, reminding guests of the wonderful music by artists of days gone by.

Bronkhorst formed the Blue Torch Band in 2009 with a bunch of “brilliant musician friends”, as he described them, from Bloemfontein.

However, he relocated to Mbombela in October 2010 and sadly had to say goodbye to the band.

In December 2011 it hooked up together for a Lowveld Tour while Bronkhorst was today the only one left to be seen on stage entertaining guests with a wide variety from the ’60s and ’70s sounds, not forgetting the blues.
