Xela College of Design launches exciting new chapter

MBOMBELA – An exciting evolution in our city’s educational and creative spheres was announced on Thursday night as Xela College of Design introduced the addition of interior design to their current curriculum.
The event took place at Riverside Mall and Xela’s principal, Alex Asman, explained that the addition of interior design to their current qualifications will make this an even more appealing option for those who want to study in these areas after school.
“This course will be offered alongside our existing fashion design, design and craft qualifications,” she said. The college’s qualifications have been registered with the City Guild in London, which makes them internationally accredited.
“This means that our students can work anywhere in the world – London, New York, Paris and Milan,” Asman said. She added that the college’s Stellenbosch campus will be launched in 2016. “Xela College of Design will form part of Stellenbosch’s collective campus, which gives students the opportunity of choosing to study in one of these two beautiful cities – Mbombela or Stellenbosch.”
Di Alberton, the college vice-principal, said that the design college had been met with great enthusiasm. “The courses offer young people to broaden their horisons and kickstart their futures, right here in Mbombela,” she said. “Xela College of Design will put Mbombela’s fashion and interior design on the map.”
