Bikers visits Lone Tree Shellhole for fundraiser

Muller, a motorcycle enthusiast and a member of the Big Five Harley Davidson Owners Group (HOG), decided to involve fellow riders to help with the fundraising.

Each month a member or two of the Barberton MOTH’s gets a chance to host a fund-raiser.
In February it was Willie Muller and Clarence Hobbs’s turn to come up with an idea to raise funds for the clubhouse, the Lone Tree Shellhole. Muller, a motorcycle enthusiast and a member of the Big Five Harley Davidson Owners Group (HOG), decided to involve fellow riders.

Two Sundays ago, men and women bikers from Mbombela and White River departed early on a breakfast run to Barberton.

Muller and other Barberton members of Big Five HOG met them en route and escorted them to the Lone Tree Shellhole. From 11:00 the nearly 35 riders had a great time socialising on the verandas of the Lone Tree Shellhole.
Funds were raised by selling tickets for the event. According to Muller and Hobbs the day was a huge success and the brunch was delicious.

The event was sponsored by Muller’s business, SS-IT and Clarence Hobbs collected donations from local businesses. Hobbs conveyed a special thank you to Barberton Pick n Pay, Chop-Chop Butchery and Thinus Breedt of Jathira for sponsoring the food.

“On behalf of all the members of MOTH Lone Tree Shellhole we thank each and every Big Five HOG member who attended the fund-raising. A special thank you to Big Five HOG director Johan Spies for a well-coordinated event,” said Muller.

There are about 100 active Big Five HOG members in the Lowveld. If you live in Barberton and would like to become part of these riders, contact Muller on
