Fact: Mbombela has amazing hair artists
This city's hairdressers amazed at the Twincare on Tour seminar.
MBOMBELA – A fashion show of a different kind grabbed the imaginations of locals who attended Twincare International’s seminar at Emnotweni recently. The Twincare on Tour seminar revolved around hairstyling and revealed that one’s hair is not just something pretty that covers your head. Your hair can be a canvas where hairdressing artists can create weird and wonderful things.
For hairdressers, clients are their canvasses. Although these hair artists mights often want to impress with wild, funky and out-of-the-box hairstyles, their options in doing so are limited as the average person prefers a good old tried and tested “normal” hairstyle.
However, the hair industry does require experimenting every now and then. How else would we have evolved from the dreaded step-hairstyle that many women clung to religiously before something more modern came into fashion?
Progress in the art of hairdressing was sped up by the introduction and expansion of various hair styling products over the past few decades. Twincare International is one of the world’s most well-known retail hair care product distributors. When various local and nationally renowned models took to the catwalk with hairdo’s styled by Twincare products, it was easy to see why this distributor is so widely recognised.
This year’s event was themed “The Travelling Circus” and models were dressed up in over-the-top costumes and makeup. What stood out, were the models’ hairdo’s that had been created by more than 20 of Mbombela’s hairdressers. Nothing was off limits. There were wildly teased hairstyles, frizzed do’s and hair crafted into various shapes and sizes. One woman’s hair was adorned with rubber snakes, which transformed her into a modern day Medusa. Another model’s ponytail was almost as long as she was tall. It was styled to resemble Jasmin from the Disney classic, Aladdin.
Emnotweni’s arena was packed and the audience loved every minute of the show. The talents of our creative hairdressers previously limited to our boring likes and dislikes, were flaunted for the world to see. Twincare’s education manager, Mr Kent Nicholls, said that he and his team were very impressed with what Mbombela’s hairdressers had brought to the table. “You have some really, really talented hairdressers in this city,” he said.
Local beauty and modelling coach Ms Manda Gomes was one of the models and described working with Kent ans his team as “a wonderful blessing.”
