The history of today’s date

Important things happen every day. This includes today. So what happened years ago on September 12?

Have you ever wondered what happened on today’s date in the past? Well today, September 12, marks the birthday of the late actor Paul Walker. In 1848 Switzerland becomes a federal state. In 1940 four teens, following their dog down a hole near Lascaux France discover 17 000-year-old drawings now known as Lascaux Cave Paintings. In 1990 Les Miserables opens at Circus Theater, Stockholm. In 1992 Hurricane Inuki pounds Hawaii. In 2000 Holland passes laws allowing same-gender marriage, adoption and divorce. And to think all of this happened on today’s date, many years ago. Maybe you can make history?
