Wining and dining make for a night to remember

La Bri's competition winner had a magical evening with her 20 selected friends

MBOMBELA – Good friends and good food, paired with some of South Africa’s best wines, were the perfect combination that made Saturday night one that Estee Prozesky and 20 of her friends will cherish for years to come.

She was recently selected as the winner of the La Bri wine pairing in Lowvelder’s competition, which formed part of the TOPS Wine Show late last year.

Readers were invited to share their favourite food-and-wine pairing, and Prozesky won with the three-course meal she designed. The prize consisted of a fun and informal tasting, hosted by La Bri wine specialist, Olivia Pretorius.

She presented a biltong-and-wine pairing which gave guests a truly unique South African experience.

The Merlot was paired with beef droëwors, the Syrah with Angus beef and the Affinity with ostrich, which was the perfect partner for this rather spicy wine.
