Women unite in prayer

Locals enjoyed a great interdenominational service at the annual Women’s World Day of Prayer. The service was held at Barberton Methodist Church in General Street on Friday.

People of various races, cultures and churches came together in fellowship.

This event is a global ecumenical movement of Christian women. More than 170 countries come together on the first Friday in March each year, to join in prayer and action for peace and justice.

In South Africa, the first World Day of Prayer service was held in March 1930 at the Sea Point Evangelical Congregational Church.
