Hospice thanks volunteers and donors with a Christmas feast
Christmas spirit was in the air at the Nelspruit Hospice annual volunteer year-end function, held at Utopia in Africa last Tuesday evening.
MBOMBELA – The venue was decorated with chandeliers, which owner Patricia Ellis makes by hand, while the tables were adorned with handmade crafts that her daughter, Claire Ellis, thoughtfully put together for the occasion.
This is the 10th year that the function is being held, as the institution’s way to thank all their dedicated angels for the hard work they have put in throughout the year.
The event is not only to thank those who have helped Nelspruit Hospice, but also serves as an opportunity for donors and volunteers to network, as they all understand what a difficult task it is to raise funds and awareness for their campaigns.

This year the institution raised an excess of R300 000.
The evening started off with a few wise words spoken by one of the founders of Nelspruit Hospice, Mary Lebotschy, followed by a Christmas feast fit for kings.
The Hospice has also started a new monthly programme where patients and volunteers get taken for a day of pampering.
