Around the globe: Botswana
For this week's country of the week we chose to explore Botswana, our neighbouring country rich in culture.

Botswana is an independent republic with the same economic status as South Africa which is stable. It is a country rich in mining, cattle farms and it depends mostly on tourism. Something that few people know is that Botwana is the second largest most-affected country when it comes to HIV/AIDS. The life expectancy of residents is only 34 years of age.
Most people living in Botswana originated from South Africa where the Khoi-San and Bushmen lived speaking the Click language.
According to New world encyclopedia, Botswana is bordered by South Africa to the south, Namibia to the west, Zambia to the north, and Zimbabwe to the northeast. It is dominated by the Kalahari Desert, which covers up to 70 percent of the land surface. The Okavango Delta, the world’s largest inland delta, is in the northwest. The Makgadikgadi Pan, a large salt pan, lies in the north. Botswana has diverse areas of wildlife habitat, including the Okavango Delta, the Kalahari Desert, grasslands, and savannas. The climate is mostly subtropical.
