A total of 10 teams took part, representing nine of the country’s cricket unions during the week.

The 25th annual CSA National LSEN Cricket Week was recently held in White River and Mbombela with four schools acting as venues for matches over four days of cricket.
Mpumalanga Cricket welcomed more than 100 young players from all over South Africa during the national LSEN week from October 6 to 9. Only the Northern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo and SWD Cricket were not represented at the tournament as 10 teams from nine unions participated. The Central Gauteng Lions were able to send two teams to take part in the Lowveld.
While a few matches were abandoned without being played due to rain, a total of 23 matches were ultimately played across the four days. Matches were played at Hoërskool Rob Ferreira, Hoërskool Bergvlam, Hoërskool Nelspruit and Penryn College.

Matches played on the first day of the week were in the T20 format, while the second day’s matches were played in time cricket format. The third and fourth days saw matches played in the one-day (50-over) format.
Boland and the Lions emerged as the dominant teams during the week, both securing three wins from five matches, with their time cricket encounter ending in a draw. This tournament was a tough one for the hosts, the Mpumalanga Rhinos, who were unable to register a win.
