Kids benefit from generosity of Unathi and Pick n Pay

On Friday afternoon the Pick n Pay (PnP) Naas and Unathi Foundation for Orphans visited Ngwenjama Combined School.

MALALANE – On Friday afternoon the Pick n Pay (PnP) Naas and Unathi Foundation for Orphans visited Ngwenjama Combined School.

According to Mr Isaac Nchabeleng, a representative of PnP, they are proud supporters of the Unathi foundation and what it stands for.

“We have been doing this annually for the past eight years and it has shown a significant change in the hearts of the people,” said Nchabeleng.

PnP donates food parcels to single parents and orphaned children at this school, and this year the supermarket management gave them a short lecture on cancer and gave every child a Sunflower Fund bandana.

He said, “It is important that our youth know what is happening around them. The Sunflower Fund is a non-profit organisation, PnP makes no money out of this initiative but we feel good when we know we support people who have to face the fight against cancer.”

The Unathi Foundation was established by

Ms Nolcuhluphelca Sibiya, who dedicated her life to helping those in need.

“I have a 15-year plan. It is that one of these young people will take over where I left off and make a difference. They face extreme difficulties every day.Our job is to keep them motivated to improve and change their situation. Support is necessary, not just by giving, but by listening.” She added that they had seen tremendous results and hoped to make an even greater impact before the 15 years were up.
