Jacaranda FM appoints new voice of the region
Mr Ron Olivier has been appointed as Jacaranda FM’s new voice of the Mpumalanga region.

NELSPRUIT – Mr Ron Olivier has been appointed as Jacaranda FM’s new voice of the Mpumalanga region. According to the radio station, Olivier will be based at the Jacaranda regional studio at Emnotweni Casino from where he will do the weekday shows show from 12:00-16:00 and Saturdays from 10:00-14:00.
“It’s fantastic to have someone filling the studio with energy. We look forward to working closely with Ron for many years to come,” said Mr Ig Olivier, general manager at Emnotweni Casino.
Ron has just returned to Nelspruit after living and working in the United States and Cape Town for four years. He is not only an award-winning graphic designer, but also the owner of a successful advertising and marketing company.
“Moving back to the Lowveld and spending 2013 here has proven to me once more that my heart belongs here and this is where all my opportunities reside,” he said. He explained that getting the job was a challenge he had set for himself after numerous friends urged him to do something with his radio voice.
“The final push was when I interviewed local Afrikaans power-house band Die Heuwels Fantasties, after their show in the Lowveld Botanical Gardens earlier this year. I knew I had to give it a bash. And here I am, after rigorous auditioning and some serious luck. I am proud to be your regional presenter for the Limpopo and Lowveld broadcast of Jacaranda FM,” he said.
When he’s not working, this single go-getter immerses himself in an array of activities from hiking, safari, and bootcamp, to reading, watching movies, and art. “Anything that allows me to escape the hum-drum,” he said.
