According to Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams, deputy minister communications, matric students should consider a career in the vast area of information communication technologies (ICT). “Young people, especially girls should choose careers such as information technology management, network planning and designing, programming, broadcasting in a digital era, cyber security, ICT regulation and ICT policy making.”
Ndabeni-Abrahams stated that the jobs of the future are in ICT. “These jobs will pay better than traditional jobs and have an enormous ability to change lives and society. Young people need to prepare for this future by augmenting their skills and ready themselves to compete with the youth of the world in making our world a better place.”
On behalf of the ministry of communications, Ndabeni-Abrahams also wished the class of 2013 well in their exams which have already started.
