ROUTE 40 delivers outstanding performances
A music festival of note
The Route 40 Music Festival kicked off at 11:00 today, Friday November 6. Casterbridge Lifestyle Centre, White River, came alive with the sounds of amazing new talent unearthed in the Casterbridge Music Development Academy (CMDA) talent search. Paige Mac, Sheraaz Band and Jason Hartman (of Idols fame) performed to the delight of audiences. CMDA’s Cosmic River produced a unique sound blending classical, cello and flute with rock guitar and powerful vocal harmonies.
This evening from 21:30 there will be a feast of talent to listen to such as Stefano Giorgini, Elvis Blue, The Parlotones and Zebra and Giraffe.
Saturday’s headline acts include December Streets, Vusi Mahlasela, Watershed and Woodstock Mafia. Sunday’s main performances include Shortstraw, Lindiwe Suttle, ISO and Prime Circle
Many of the headline musicians as well as the Rock School of Music USA are running workshops at Casterbridge all day. Fans will have the opportunity to meet their idols or learn more about song-writing and how to succeed in the music industry.
