Hip hop cares plans to improve the lives of the needy

We aim to encourage this growth while doing serious charity work just in time for christmas and New year holiday celebrations.

LONGTILL – The Hip Hop Cares Foundation is back again to do some charity work. The event will take place on December 21 from 17:00- 2:00 at Uber Lifestyle.

Hip Hop Cares has changed the music fraternity in Burgersfort.

Speaking to Steelburger/Lydenburg News, founder of the foundation and member of Mic Rocker, Dizz Kekana said hip-hop artists are sprouting from the rich Tubatse soil.

“We aim to encourage this growth while doing serious charity work just in time for Christmas and New Year. The Hip Hop Cares awards concept came as a result of desperation for recognition. The Tubatse region is gifted with unique wordsmiths who lack inspiration because their work is not appreciated,” he said.

The categories that artists will be competing under are as follows: Song of the Year, Best Crew, Infinite Lyricist and Hustlers Ambition. The victor in every category will receive a trophy, a certificate, hamper worth R300, recording time at the Mic Rocker Studios and a professional photoshoot by Kutullo “Mo2” Lentsoane.

The voting details are on Facebook. Search and add “Mic Rocker” as a friend. Hip Hop Cares is urging all companies who are willing to sponsor the categories to come forward.” Kekana added that this will not only be good advertisement for them, but it will contribute largely to legitimasing the event.

“An admission fee of R20 and two clothing items, books or canned food will be accepted as an entrance fee. The proceeds will be used to buy groceries and uniforms for needy children.

“Hip Hop Cares is calling on all businesspeople in and around Burgersfort to help make a difference.”

Kekana said his crew is breaking the stigma regarding the shoulders of the youth, “No longer will it be said that the local youth are not actively participating in community development.”

Anyone who is willing to sponsor the cause to fight poverty and promote education through music, can contact Kekana at 071-358-8008 or email dizz.kekana@gmail.com Artists who want to perform, can also call him.

The organisers of the event which are Mic Rocker and Uber Lifestyle are excited about the event and appreciate the support already shown by the following sponsors, Power Fashion Factory, Invasion Clothing and Phihlelelo Bontji Trading.
