White River SAPS celebrates women and children

Function at Hillside community

White River SAPS in conjunction with various stakeholders hosted a 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children event early in December. The function was held at the Hillsview Community Hall and formed part of the police’s contribution to this countrywide campaign.

Nelspruit cluster commander, Brig Xaba, delivered a positive keynote address on the day. The purpose of the function was to educate the community about domestic violence and to create awareness of this scourge. At the same time the audience was taught how to the different forms and signs of domestic violence. Community members participated in various fun events while the children were entertained with games.
