Search for body of girl that drowned still unsuccessful

LYDENBURG – The body of a nine year old girl still hasn’t been recovered after several hours passed.

Various search and rescue teams are still on scene, working around the clock to find the body. The girl drowned in a river near Lydenbrug on Saturday.

A helicopter was called in earlier this morning to assist divers, but various circumstances and a strong flowing river make the search extremely difficult.

Two dogs, Bertus and Lara, also joined the team and are currently in the river searching for the body.
